There are several key dates for orientation/information events on the College calendar.

If you’ve been thinking about taking a closer look at Dominic College lately, the perfect opportunity is just around the corner! On Tuesday 12 March 2013, Dominic College will hold its annual Open Day, along with the Year 7, 2014 Information Evening.

Open Day is your chance to see for yourself what makes Dominic College different from other schools. It’s a day where you can see the grounds, visit the classrooms, talk to teachers and students, learn about programs and technology and meet other parents and community members.

Below are some more details about the day:

Kindergarten – Year 6

• Opportunity to speak with staff and students

• Guided tours of the classrooms in action running every 30 minutes: 9.30am – 2.30pm and 4.00pm – 5.30pm (last tour departing at 5.00pm)

Year 7 – 10

• Opportunity to speak with staff and students

• Student curriculum displays and demonstrations in various subject areas

• Guided tours running every 30 minutes from 4.00pm – 6.00pm (last tour departing at 5.15pm)

• Complementary BBQ and refreshments from 5.00pm – 6.00pm

• Year 7 Information Evening Presentation from 6.00pm – 7.00pm

Year 7 Information EveningYear 7 Information Evening

Dominic College has worked hard to ensure that the transition from Year 6 to Year 7 is as seamless as possible. At the Year 7 Information Evening prospective Year 7 students and their families learn more about the College by chatting to leadership staff and students, looking at interactive displays and learning about what to expect in Year 7. This event takes place on the evening of the Open Day on Tuesday 12 March, 2013. The presentation is from 6.00pm – 7.00pm in the Dance Studio and is for parents and students considering enroling in Year 7 at Dominic in 2014.

House flagsYear 7 House Orientation Evening

At the Year 7 House Orientation Evening, students enrolled at Dominic for Year 7 the following year meet the other members of their pastoral group, their pastoral teacher and their House Coordinator. This is a good chance for students and their families to become accustomed with the spaces and processes of their new school and forge some early friendships.

Year 7 Orientation DayYear 7 Orientation Day

The final transition event for prospective 2013 Year 7 students is the Year 7 Orientation day. Students will live a day as a Dominic Year 7 student and familiarise themselves with the facilities and staff before they start at Dominic the following year.

 

First day of KinderKindergarten Parent Information Evening

The Kindergarten Parent Information Evening gives prospective parents of Kindergarten students the chance to meet Kindergarten staff and learn more about what to expect for the start of their child’s education.

 

 

Kindergarten Orientation Days

In December, children enrolled as Kindergarten students for the following year will get the chance to be a Kinder student for the day.
