The Savio Building

The School Gymnasium (Savio Building) was opened on the 27th June 1999 by FR Gregory Chambers from the Salesian province of Australia and blessed by the Archbishop of Hobart Adrian Doyle.

Funding for this project was principally supplied by the Dominic College community and with the generous support of the Salesian province of Australia.

The court markings on the gym floor support many sports such as-Basketball, Netball, Badminton, Tennis, Indoor Soccer Etc. The Netball rings are easily placed and removed when required and the Basketball backboards wind up into the heights of the gym. The Facilities are regularly used by Dominic College students and many community sports teams.

During the cold winter months, many PE lessons are held in the gymnasium. A fine performing arts stage is used for drama, concerts and school assemblies.
