World Teachers' Day

Schools across Australia celebrate World Teachers’ Day on 5 October each year.

This event was inaugurated in 1994 by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to acknowledge the outstanding efforts and complex work of teachers in our society.

We, too, at Dominic College salute our teachers and extend our appreciation for all they do to develop our students in so many different dimensions.

Students are deeply affected by their relationships with their teachers, and their teachers’ perceived commitment to them. Research shows this relationship is one of the most important factors in shaping student engagement in their learning.

We are blessed at Dominic College to have high quality teachers, deeply committed to our students and constantly trying to improved educational outcomes for them. Our teachers are the College’s best resource.

There is a critical mass of teachers at Dominic College who are hugely talented educators and are totally committed to our students achieving their best. They are generous to and genuinely love the students they teach and our students are moving from strength to strength because of our teachers.
