Guilford Young College

Guilford Young College (GYC) is the only senior secondary Catholic College in Hobart, and the progressive senior campus for Dominic College students after completing Year 10.

GYC's northern campus in Bowden Street, Glenorchy, entirely encompasses the former senior secondary campus of Dominic College, and contains many buildings and memorials familiar to old scholars of Savio, Holy Name and Dominic Colleges.

GYC was formed in 1994 and commenced an intake of students into Year 11 in January 1995, and this year celebrates its 20th anniversary with a number of events.

Guilford Young College provides a comprehensive curriculum of academic and vocational courses on learning pathways for a fulfilling future. GYC is located on two picturesque and functionally excellent campuses: the Glenorchy Campus in Bowden St and the Hobart Campus in Barrack St.

In friendly and supportive environments, GYC encourages students to develop into young men and women of integrity and generous commitment. GYC students graduate as young people of hope and boundless capacity. Although GYC is a modern College in age and outlook, it draws wisdom and inspiration from the traditions of its founding religious congregations including the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Dominican Sisters.
