R U OK? Day

10 September 2026

These are skills that extend far beyond the classroom, helping to build a caring and supportive community. By encouraging open conversations about wellbeing, we can all play a part in ensuring that no one feels alone.

In K-2 awareness about R U OK? Day was raised with students participating in an interactive video journey helping ‘Healthy Harold’ support his friend.

Students in Years 3-6 focused on learning how to have an R U OK? conversation. They explored the four key steps: Ask R U OK?, Listen, Encourage Action, and Check In. They watched a video in their Oratory class and focused on when and why we should check in with our friends. They did some role playing and were introduced to different scenarios.

During both recess and lunch breaks, the SRC organised a range of activities designed to foster connections and promote wellbeing. Students wrote positive notes, made friendship bracelets, and created positive message rocks. They also enjoyed a scavenger hunt, chalk drawing activities, and trivia challenges.

These activities provided a fun and engaging opportunity for students in Years 3-6 to come together, build positive relationships, and strengthen their sense of connection within the school community.

Students in the Valdocco Precinct took part in R U OK? Day activities focused on building connection and supporting one another. The day began with secondary students being welcomed by the Wellbeing Team with music and chocolates, creating a positive start to the day. In Morning Oratory Groups, students unpacked the meaning of R U OK? Day and discussed simple but important ways to check in with friends and offer support when someone may be struggling. It was a great opportunity to remind students that a conversation, a kind word, or simply taking the time to ask 'Are you OK?' can make a real difference.
