SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY Shorts Day

22 June 2026

By pulling on a pair of shorts and joining in the activities, students and staff showed their support for the important message that no one should have to face challenges alone. The day highlighted the importance of checking in with others, speaking up when we need support, and staying connected through everyday conversations.

In the Valdocco Precinct, students participated in a range of activities centred on the Shorts Day theme, 'Brave the cold. Brave the conversation.' During Morning Oratory Groups, students enjoyed a Choccy Chat, sharing a piece of chocolate and taking time to connect with one another through conversation. Throughout Break 1 and Break 2, students were entertained by an Open Mic style concert, showcasing the talents and enthusiasm of our community.

A highlight of the day was the opportunity for students to dunk teachers in the P&F dunk machine during Break 2, bringing plenty of laughter and excitement to the celebrations. Every activity throughout the day reinforced the message that starting a conversation can make a significant difference.

Thank you to all students and staff who participated and helped make Speak Up! Stay Chatty Shorts Day such a positive and meaningful event.
