Book Week 2025

20 August 2025

We celebrated the 2025 Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week with a number of activities and events held across the College for all students. The theme this year was ‘Book an Adventure!’ and our Book Week celebrations focused on the adventurous world of books – the gateway to endless adventures, boundless imagination and the magical power to transport us to anywhere our hearts desire.

The highlight of the week was of course our fabulous K-6 Book Week Parade and Assembly in which all students have the opportunity to dress up as their favourite book characters.  It was lovely to see so many families supporting and attending this event. As always, the costumes were amazing and the enthusiasm of students showcasing their favourite books and characters was fantastic to see!

Our 7-10 students had the opportunity to take part in the 7-10 Book Week Red Carpet Parade which saw a number of students and teachers participating.  Other events held during the week included bead bracelet making, a Lego building competition and knitting and crocheting in the 7-10 Library and Maker Spaces complete with collages and paper weaving for our Year 3-6 students.

We hope that everyone enjoyed Book Week 2025 and remembers that reading is more than just a skill—it’s a lifelong adventure, a journey that can take us to faraway places, introduce us to new ideas, and help us see the world through different eyes!

Thank you to all our families for continuing to support this much-loved annual event.
