Counsellor and Rector

We are proud of our efforts to support all members of the Dominic College community. We have the vital assistance of a full-time school counsellor, supported by other trained members of staff. All students and families have access.

The counsellor works towards empowering students to become healthy, self-managing, resilient and self-actualising individuals. The counsellor provides support for students and parents/guardians experiencing difficulties at school and helps develop strategies to improve outcomes for students, and to achieve positive changes. Our counselling policy can be found Student Counselling Service Policy.

Also, our College Rector, Fr Peter Rankin SDB, offers particular support to students and families as part of the Pastoral Care programs. He leads the spiritual and religious life of the College and provides guidance and wisdom on the implementation of our mission as a Catholic school in the Salesian tradition.

Fr Peter is a member of the College Leadership Team, the K-10 Mission Team, attends all P&F Meetings, and is a member of the Dominic Old Scholar Association Committee. Fr Peter continues to provide spiritual direction and pastoral counselling for individuals in our community.

We are fortunate as a community to have a Rector of such experience and with such a caring heart as Fr Peter.
