College Fair a fantastic community day

The Dominic College Community Fair held on Friday 4 November was yet another special success for the hard-working Parents & Friends.

Despite threatening gales, our intrepid band of staff and volunteers worked hard to have everything ready for the 3.30pm start, and were a bit 'close to the wind' with the last of the outdoor stalls. Parents, and visitors were arriving in their hundreds, and by the time proceedings were underway and the peddlers were parading, hot food, fairyfloss and all the traditional Dominic culinary specials were booming.

Congratulations to all the class stalls, such as the playdough, luck dips, lucky sticks and lolly bags. Hats off, too, to the performers - the locals, such as our choirs, DUCKs, bands and musicians, as well as the Sands Family Circus, who thoroughly entertained as they bounced, leaped, somersaulted and balanced precariously.

It was great to see many old scholars there, both old, middling and newer and especially the many GYC students who returned for the Fair on their last day of Year 12. Lovely to see you!

Thank you to the thoroughly focussed Dominic P&F who will report on the Fair in next week's newsletter.
