Graduation Mass 2022: new old scholars

​The Year 10 Class of 2022 officially became Old Scholars at their Graduation Mass held Thursday evening 24 November 2022. In a beautiful ceremony, held again in the College's Savio Centre, Year 10 students, staff, old scholars, family and friends gathered to commend the Class of 2022, to celebrate with Mass and for the students to receive their graduation certificates.

Hall of Achievement 2022

In our annual Years 6-10 Awards ceremony we recognise the achievements of our students with subject awards and special awards for commitment to Academic, Mission, Creative Arts and Sports goals. We also induct two special old scholars into the Dominic College Hall of Achievement, recognising their achievements post-school. In our 2022 induction on Wednesday 23 November 2022 we inducted Ms Kate Smith and Doctor Samuel Dixinto the Dominic College Hall of Achievement.

Dominic College IWD breakfast 2021

The annual Dominic College International Women's Day breakfast was held on Wednesday 10 March 2021 in the Savio Centre. Over 240 students and adults enjoyed breakfast, prayers, music and reflections from our guests. Over 10 years, the breakfast has become an important community event where we celebrate and discuss ways we can help our students, especially our girls and young women, grow and contribute to their world. We also raise important funds for our sister school in Samoa for scholarships for young girls to attend a Salesian school.

International Women's Day breakfast 2021

The Women's Day breakfast is on Wednesday 10 March 2021 commencing at 7.15am and concludes by 8.30am. It is always a memorable community occasion and all girls from Year 5 to Year 10 are invited along with their mothers or special family. Old scholars, staff and our friends in the community are also invited.​

Dominic College's 2020 Men's Day breakfast

​The 2020 Men's Day breakfast was a great success raising over $2800 for scholarships for Salesian schools in Samoa. The breakfast featured an important address from our special guest, Mr Matthew Stolp, old scholar Class of 1989, as well as participation by our leaders and parents.

Kindergarten to Year 6 Assembly Awards

Even though we are currently not able to have assemblies, we still want to recognize some of our wonderful students. So each fortnight in Term 2 we will still be awarding certificates, but in a different way. We will create a video congratulating those students who have received an award.

Student trip blogs coming up

​In September each year Year 6 and Year 9 make their exciting immersion trips, Year 6 students travel to Canberra and Year 9 students to the Northern Territory. When they eventually graduate from Dominic College old scholars often recall these trips as some of the best times of their schooling.

​Last week, Mental Health Week 2.0 took place with more workshops and activities and guest speakers from all over Australia. Last year’s inaugural Mental Health Week was a huge success but we wanted to build and make it even bigger and better.
