Parents & Friends News

It has been a very busy month for the P&F with lots of events happening and even more coming up next term.

We had a great turnout of volunteers for our Fathers Day Stall and we had a great range and variety of gifts. The stall was well supported by all students especially the high school which was fantastic.

We also held a BBQ to support the parents and players who participated in the Denison vs Franklin Footy & Netball day. Big thanks goes to Sharon Cleland, Sharyn Majchrzak and families who helped cook and hand out over 100 sausages. Special thanks to Tori who also generously volunteered her time.

The P&F Walkathon was held on Friday 16 September in conjunction with Footy Colours Day and it was a fantastic morning and atmosphere.

We decided not to have a BBQ lunch this year but instead handed out lemonade Icy Poles, which I think all students and staff appreciated after their long walk.

Thank you to Sharon Cleland and Mary Moase for helping me hand out over 900 icypoles.

It is not too late to send back your donations and every little bit helps go towards lovely new seating for the K-10 Library, so please donate what you are able. Donations will be accepted at both offices and via classes until Friday 14 October.

The Family Photo Day to be held on Sunday 16 October is also filling up fast with all morning timeslots now booked up, so please contact Nanette Dowling on 0407 830 346 if you don’t want to miss out. A large family photo is only $20 and they make beautiful gifts.

Fair Update

Raffle books for our major Raffle will be sent out in the next week. We have plenty of amazing prizes this year, so please support the Fair and the businesses who have generously donated by buying a book. Tickets are $1 each and prizes are worth over $3700. A massive thank you goes out to Sharyn Majchrzak for helping print raffle books and bundle them up ready to be sent out. We really appreciate the tremendous effort put in by yourself and your workmates at Mark Media to have a fast turnaround Well done!!

We have a great range of entertainment and stalls lined up this year including the Gee Whizzer, Jumping Castle, Pony Rides, Dunking Machine, Fire Truck, Chocolate Wheel, Lucky Jars, Christmas Craft, Fudge a Fare, Cookies in a Jar, Craft Bags, Flowers, Cakes, Treasure stall and much, much more.

We also welcome back Sand’s Family Circus who were a great hit last year and who will be at this year’s Fair from start to finish.

Fair Volunteer forms have been emailed out today so if you can spare an hour or two on Fair Day it would be greatly appreciated, as the more volunteers we have the easier it is for everyone to enjoy the day.
