Clarence eisteddfod success for music groups

The City of Clarence Eisteddfod was held last week and Dominic College was well represented with over 70 students performing at City-Wide in Mornington.

On Monday, the Senior Choir competed and were awarded a merit certificate in a tightly contested section.

In the evening, the Concert Band presented two pieces, ’Oh Happy Day’ and ‘Hooked on a Feeling’ and for a growing group, produced a confident and musically appealing set.

Tuesday was the battle of the Primary Choirs. The Year 3-4 choir sang ‘Meow’ and ‘I see the Light’, and the adjudicator certainly did, awarding them first prize.

The Year 5-6 choir’s turn came in the afternoon. They sang ‘This Song’ and ‘Gecko’. They also were awarded first prize.

Congratulations to all students who performed this week.

The College community will have the opportunity to see the Concert Band, the Senior Choir and the Year 5-6 Choir next Tuesday 12 September at the Music and Dance Showcase at the Don Bosco Creative Arts Centre at Guildford Young College.
