Glenorchy City Council Safer School Communities Awards

On Tuesday 24 October the Glenorchy City Council held their Safer Communities Young People Awards.

These were formally known as the Junior Neighbourhood Awards. These awards are presented to Primary School students who demonstrate pride, safety and community spirit both at school and in the wider community. This year Dominic College had six students who were awarded for their incredible efforts. They were:

Josie Stefankowski - Year 1 for taking pride in her School, especially in the playground by creating a cleaning team at recess and lunchtime.

Charli Geeves – Year 2 for her care and thoughtfulness towards classmates and the wider community. In particular, her contribution to the Giving Tree each year to support children at Christmas time in need.

Jasmin Bailey – Year 4 for being a thoughtful, genuine and caring classmate. She is dedicated to her learning, honest, kind and well respected by her peers.

Bianca Russell – Year 6 for the amazing contribution she has made to the Mini Vinnies group this year and the care she shows to everyone in the community.

Montana Wright – Year 6 for her amazing attitude in working with younger students. She supports them on the bus, during her recess and lunchtime. She is a very humble and just student.

Kitean Aitkin – Year 6 for the care and compassion that he shows to those in our community. In particular his organising of a McGrath Foundation Pink Stumps day in support of our Principal when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. He raised over $1700 at this event.

We are extremely proud of these students and wish to congratulate and thank all of them for their incredible efforts.
