Message from the Principal

Dear Friends

Many thanks to all parents, students and staff for your wonderful support, acts of kindness and consistent prayers during my recent illness.

I was particularly grateful for the sincere messages, gifts and flowers sent by parents and families during my recuperation. I felt very blessed by such generosity.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Janine O’Hea as Acting Principal and Mrs Selina Kinne as Acting Deputy Principal for their outstanding, dedicated work and constant endeavours during these past two terms.

My appreciation is also extended to Mr Dylan Chivers for his consistent support of Janine and Mr Andrew Pritchard for taking up my Year 10 Humanities class unexpectedly which he will maintain until the end of the year. I have also appreciated the commitment of Mrs Sue Cunningham for taking over effective leadership of the K-10 Writing Team and Project from Selina.

There are no words to describe how wonderful it is to be back at Dominic College with our talented staff and beautiful students.

I have enjoyed gradually catching up with students in the playground and marvelling at how much they have all grown in the last two terms!

One of the highlights of my return this week was the K-6 assembly, and having Year 6 lead the gathering so confidently in prayer as well as seeing students being awarded well-deserved teacher certificates.

You can see photos from the assembly on our gallery: K-6 assembly.

It was particularly great to have our Mini-Vinnies students acknowledged at the assembly for their fundraising efforts and initiatives for our Salesian Missions last term. We can look forward to these young disciples repeating their efforts this term.
