Old scholar, Kieran Dooley’s 300th game

On Saturday 25 July DOSA played Hutchins at the TCA ground in an important game. DOSA, Hutchins and Richmond, were are all tied in first place in the seniors old scholars competition with 10 wins and 3 losses and only the top two sides get a second chance in the finals in September. DOSA has been in good form, defeating St Virgil’s and Channel during the holidays. Saturday was a great celebration for Dominic College old scholar, Class of 1989, Kieran Dooley, who played his 300^th game for DOSA, in the reserves.

Kieran was best on ground in last year’s DOSA reserves grand final triumph over Hutchins and has played in five premiership-winning sides. Kieran is also a five times DOSA Best and Fairest winner, a Life Member of DOSA Football and of the Old Scholars Football Association.

It was a great day for Kieran and for DOSA – Reserves had a massive dominating win over Hutchins by 165 points, and in seniors DOSA 19 11 125 defeated Hutchins 11 9 75 in a powerful display.

Kieran hd a great game on the wing, and was constantly transitioning from defence to attack. In the final quarter, to the delight of his cheer squad, Kieran was shifted to full forward and kicked a couple of memorable goals. Congratulations on your 300 games, Kieran Dooley!
