Parents & Friends news

We had our first meeting in two months last week and we were thrilled to welcome back Beth Gilligan after six months away. We have missed her guidance, support and her lively Principal reports and we are so glad that she is back on board for the rest of the year.

On 9 August we held our annual K-6 PJ Day which was a huge success - all students looked fantastic in their comfy pyjamas and the atmosphere around the classrooms was great.

A big thank you goes out to Alli Lowe and her Year 6 students for organising and distributing hot chocolate to all students - we really appreciate all the time and effort that they put in.

Our Father’s Day Stall is coming up next Wednesday 30 August and we have an amazing range of gifts again this year. All gifts are $4 each and students can purchase more than one item. Thank you to Anne Lacy for ordering all our stock and to all the mums who have already volunteered to help out on the day. We would love a couple more helpers, so if you can spare anytime between 9am - 1pm, then please let us know.

We have had a fantastic response to our first Father’s Day Raffle which will be drawn next Thursday 31 August. Tickets are available to purchase until late Wednesday night 30 August via the link here.

Thank you to all the businesses who have donated goods to make up the prize package - we appreciate your generous support of our school community.

The P&F Committee have been asked to help support two upcoming College events and we would love to have some parent involvement at these events.

We will be running a tuckshop on Tuesday evening 12 September in conjunction with the Dominic College Concert to be held at the GYC Bosco Creative Arts Centre and also cooking a BBQ for 90 participants at the Franklin & Denison Football & Netball Day on Wednesday 20 September.

If any parents would like to help out for an hour at these important events, please email: parentsandfriends@dominic.tas.edu.au

Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday 20 September and we have invited Ms Jane Myers to come along. Jane is the Director of the K-10 Science program and will be giving us a tour of the Animal Husbandry facilities as well as speaking to us about all the wonderful Science programs that are offered at the College.
