Welcome to the 2016 academic year

Dear Friends

Welcome to the 2016 academic year at Dominic College. A particularly warm welcome to our students, families and our staff who are new to the College. May your association with the College community be a life-long and happy one.

We are all delighted to welcome our new College Rector, Fr Peter Rankin SDB who seems as if he has always been here. All in the College will quickly enjoy Fr Peter’s warm and friendly manner.

Our students have begun the year exceptionally well, focused on their learning, quickly moving to classes and speaking so positively about their lessons and their teachers. I was very impressed with our confident and happy Prep students as they commenced full time school with their new school shoes gleaming. There were a few tears but these were confined to our very loving parents!

Senior students have been outstanding in their support of our Year 7 students. Our buddy system works very well for Year 7 students.

We have done well to get our Bosco classrooms ready and accessible for 7-10 students. These are great facilities now and we will take a number of weeks to complete the large covered link that will run from Bosco House to Guzman House.

A detailed update about the College will be sent from me to families next week. Every blessing to all for a rewarding and successful year.
