The College provides a series of key orientation and transition events to assist in the smooth transfer into the Dominic College community for new students. Information on these events are below and dates for these events can also be found on the College calendar.
All families are invited to take a closer look at what makes Dominic College a leading Catholic Co-educational, Kindergarten to Year 10 College in Hobart at one of our Open Days.
Year 7 2018 House Orientation Evening: Tuesday 24 October 2017 starting 7.00pm in the Savio Centre (gymnasium)
At the Year 7 House Orientation Evening, students enrolled at Dominic College for Year 7 the following year meet the other members of their pastoral group, their pastoral teacher and their House Coordinator. This is a good chance for students and their families to become accustomed with the spaces and processes of their new school and forge some early friendships.
Year 7 2018 Orientation Day: Wednesday 29 November 2017
The final transition event for 2018 Year 7 students is the Year 7 Orientation Day. Students will live a day as a Dominic College Year 7 student and familiarise themselves with the facilities and staff before they start at Dominic College the following year.
Kindergarten 2018 Parent Information Evening: Monday 6 November 2017 commencing 7.00pm in The Oratory Space
The Kindergarten Parent Information Evening gives prospective parents of Kindergarten students the chance to meet Kindergarten staff and learn more about what to expect for the start of their child's education.
Kindergarten 2018 Orientation Days: Tuesdays 7, 14, 21 and 28 November 2017
In November, children enrolled as Kindergarten students for the following year will get the chance to be a Kinder student for the day once a week over a four week period.
For new students entering into other year levels in 2018 at Dominic College students get to experience a day at Dominic College with their future year group so that they too can familiarise themselves with the facilities and staff at the College before they commence.
