The College provides a series of key orientation and transition events to assist in the smooth transfer into the Dominic College community for new students. Information on these events are below and dates for these events can also be found on the College calendar.
Take a closer look at what makes Dominic College a leading Catholic, co-educational, Kindergarten to Year 10 College in Hobart on our upcoming Open Day. Experience the College in operation on one of our Learning in Action Tours during school hours or take a Facilities Tour after school hours. All tours will commence from our LOTE Room - Savio Centre, Upper Level.
Tour times are as follows:
11.00am Kindergarten - Year 6 - Learning in Action Tour
11.45am Year 7 - 10 - Learning in Action Tour
4.30pm Kindergarten - Year 6 - Facilities Tour
5.15pm Year 7 - 10 - Facilities Tour

Both current and prospective families are welcome to attend the Year 7 2020 and 2021 Student and Parent Information Evening in the Oratory Space on Tuesday 12 March. The evening runs in conjunction with Open Day and is an opportunity to see the facilities and subjects we have on offer. Families will also be able to speak to current students who will share their experiences during the night.
Year 7 House Orientation Evening is an important Transition Event at Dominic College. This event assists students in transitioning into our 7-10 community. The first occasion is an evening orientation into their House family and the second is a full day of orientation to our 7-10 environment.
House Orientation Evening is held on Tuesday 29 October 2019. The event will commence at 7.00pm starting in the Savio Centre.
Following a brief information session students and parents will be divided into House groups on the evening with their new House Coordinator and the House Staff Team. They will learn about important information and aspects of the way we operate in order to be ready for a smooth entry into high school.
Students and parents will then have an opportunity to meet their Pastoral Teachers. The Pastoral Teacher acts as the first point of contact for both students and parents.
Orientation Day for Year 7 2020 students is on Wednesday 6 November 2019. All students entering Year 7 in 2020 will come and spend a day as a Year 7 student, participating in various activities and making new friends.
Kindergarten 2020 Parent Information Evening: Monday 4 November 2019 commencing at 6.00pm in The Oratory Space
The Kindergarten Parent Information Evening gives prospective parents of Kindergarten students the chance to meet Kindergarten staff and learn more about what to expect for the start of their child's education.
Orientation Day for new students entering into other year levels at Dominic College in 2020 will be held on the below date. Students get to experience a day at Dominic College with their future year group so that they too can familiarise themselves with the facilities and staff at the College before they commence.
