Technology in Learning

Dominic College believes that information technology is a key area of learning in the 21st century. Students from Year 5 – 10 are each provided with their own laptop for learning. Students from Kindergarten – Year 4 utilise banks of laptops, iPads, touch screens and interactive white boards.

Access to laptops in the classroom opens an amazing array of opportunities for learning. Students have access to an unimaginable range of resources using the world wide web.

Students gaining access to laptops at a one to one ratio opens up a wide variety of learning opportunities; this allows at times for students to be working at their own pace on their own laptop, according to students individualised learning plans. Having laptops has also increased the interest of students in their subjects and their learning now extends seamlessly from school to home.
