Home Made Taco Bowls

Ingredients: - Recipe makes 6 taco bowls

  • 1 Flat Bread per person
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 sticks of celery
  • ¼ of a red capsicum
  • ¼ of a green capsicum
  • 1 tomato
  • 200g of cheese
  • 500g mince
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 150ml of pasta sauce (passata or equivalent)
  • Taco seasoning (1 packet)
  • Taco sauce- to taste
  • Sour Cream- to taste

Method:

Preheat oven to 140 degrees Celsius. Get 2 trays ready to make your taco bowls. To make the bowls the flat bread needs to sit over the top of a cup/mug so when it cooks in the oven it bakes down around the cup/mug into the shape bowl. Bake in the oven until crispy and in a bowl shape- 10-15 mins.

While this is occurring:

  • Dice up all your salad ingredients- tomatoes, celery, capsicum
  • Grate your carrot and cheese
  • Mr Golding has already prepared your mince for today (Mince, Garlic, Onion, Seasoning, Sauce)

Plating up:

Students will add in all the ingredients into their taco bowl (make it look nice and colourful, you must have all ingredient) and finish with a dollop of sour cream and some taco sauce if you like You can eat the bowl so rip off pieces of the bowl and dip into your taco mix. Yum!

Note: you may like to add avocado or lettuce to this recipe. ENJOY!
