Senior drama students present 'Aftershocks'

Senior Drama students are working on a production of AFTERSHOCKS, a verbatim theatre piece about the Newcastle earthquake which occurred on 28 December, 1989. The play focuses upon the people who were at the Newcastle Workers Club when it was hit. It is a complex and demanding undertaking.

Performances will be on Tuesday June 14 and Wednesday June 15 at 7pm in The Oratory Space. Tickets are free, but must be reserved online: Reserve your tickets.

Year 10 student, Meg Parkinson, who plays one of the main characters says she has found the experience of the play very moving.

'Knowing that here were real events and real people, that the script contains their actual words is different to acting out something that someone has written for fiction. I feel as if I am able to engage with the character in a very special way.'
