2019 College Calendar

The 2019 College Calendar has been printed and has been mailed to all families. The calendar is a handy reminder and guide to the majority of important events at Dominic in 2019. Keep it on your fridge or your utility area!

IWD breakfast 2019, with old scholar guest, Mercury journalist Jessica Sargent

Our annual International Women's Day breakfast is held on Tuesday 5 March 2019 and our special guest speaker is old scholar, Jessica Sargent (nee Howard, 2004). Years 5-10 girls, their mothers, carers, grandmothers and aunties are invited to celebrate the achievements of women, past, present and future. Old scholars are also warmly invited.

Old scholars celebrate Christmas Eve in the Chapel

Christmas Eve carols and Mass were joyfully celebrated in the Dominic College Chapel by a large group of old scholars and friends of Dominic College. The evening was hosted by the inimitable Mr Tony Webb and the Carols and hymns were harmonically projected by the St John's Parish choir and musicians, a large proportion of whom were old scholars or married to them.

Final day of Term 4 2018

The final day of Term 4 for students, Friday 14 December, was an excellent day of celebration and fun. Students were involved with administration in the morning, cleaning up classrooms, cleaning out lockers, readying to take home their Christmas craft and gifts, talking to teachers about their plans for the summer break, preparing for our Advent Mass and, for many, filling up water balloons for the big game of Flags for Year 5-9 students.

Advent Reflection

God sent a ‘present’ into the world, the gift of a loving presence named Jesus. The Gospel stories indicate that Jesus gave few material things to people. What he gave most was his personal presence, gifts that were treasures of the heart: belief in self, inner healing, peace of mind, compassion, forgiveness, dignity, and justice. This loving presence lives on in us and is the central focus of Christmas gift-giving.

The Don Bosco Green Alliance

The Don Bosco Green Alliance is an international collective of young people from Don Bosco Institutions and Organizations, that contributes to global environmental action, thought and policy.

2019 Leaders Induction

Congratulations to our 2019 Leaders who were inducted today. College student leadership was transferred between our current 2018 leaders and our future 2019 leaders today at a movin ceremony, where students volunteered to exercise their special role, and accepted the honour of college and House leadership.

Remembrance Day ceremony

On Wednesday 7 November, Year 3-10 students and staff gathered for our College Remembrance Day Ceremony. This Sunday on Remembrance Day we mark the final year of the First World War – the Great War – the war to end all wars and its Armistice at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.

Christmas Eve Carols and Mass

Everyone is invited to join our old scholars and families in the traditional Christmas Eve Carols and Mass in the Dominic College Chapel.

Last week and this week have been marked by community events which invite all across the College to become involved and deepen further student and family sense of belonging at Dominic.
