Year 7-10 Parent and Teacher evening 4 May
It was very pleasing to see such a large number of parents attend 7-10 parent teacher interviews last night. Our parent community is very engaged with their children’s education and our parents are committed to achieving the best educational outcomes for them.

Feast Day, a great day for all!
Feast Day was a wonderful day of celebrating our Salesian heritage. In the morning the K-6 students enjoyed buddy activities which were a great chance for students in different age groups to work together on a task set by their teachers which highlighted an aspect of our Salesian Saints, especially playing together.

Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN)
On 7-9 April, we attended the RYPEN camp weekend at the Lea Scout Centre near Kingston. We had a weekend of team building exercises and special guest speakers, with a focus on communication in a team.

DOSA Football news
DOSA Football's first month has been frenetic. Each week has seen different celebrations, and some great early season form displayed. Four old scholars played their first game, and one played his 363rd game on Saturday 7 April! The Old Scholars Football Association commenced with DOSA hosting University at the TCA and four recent old scholars made a fine debut. ANZAC Day - our students in the community
Dominic College students participated as a College in a number of ANZAC Day services around Hobart including Hobart, Glenorchy, New Norfolk, Lenah Valley and Pontville.

Athletics runs in the family
Brother and sister, Max and Indy Brideson, dominated the field events at the recent Dominic College House Athletics Carnival, breaking four records. Year 10 student, Indy Brideson, won the under 16 discus, shotput and javelin. She broke the previous College record in the discus by two metres. Her brother, Year 7 student, Max Brideson, won the same events in the under 13 age group, setting new College records in all three events, including a javelin throw of over 40 metres.

SRC leaders at the Prep-Year 10 assembly
Congratulations to the following students who were elected as Senate Representatives for their specific House and/or Year Group. The 7-10 and 4-6 Student Councils are an important part of life at Dominic College, and follow the teachings of Don Bosco, who recognised the positive influence of peer leadership.
