Music - Count Us In
On Thursday 2 November, 650 000 students around Australia celebrated music together, through Music Count Us In. Our Kinder to Year 1 students sang their hearts out at school, whilst our Year 2-6 students travelled to Bellerive Boardwalk with 1000 other students, from 7 other schools, to take part in the Hobart Music Count Us In event.

Nominations for College Captains 2018
Annually at this time of the year, Year 7-9 students enter a process of reflection and discernment about the students they believe should lead the College as their Captains and Vice Captains and their House leaders.
On Tuesday, 31 October, Year 9 students wishing to be considered by their 7-9 peers and staff for College Captains presented speeches to their fellow students.

Talking Heads 2017 quality drama

Glenorchy City Council Safer School Communities Awards
On Tuesday 24 October the Glenorchy City Council held their Safer Communities Young People Awards.
These were formally known as the Junior Neighbourhood Awards. These awards are presented to Primary School students who demonstrate pride, safety and community spirit both at school and in the wider community. Photography and art at the Hobart Show
Each year Visual Arts and Media Arts students from Dominic College offer a good number of entries to the Royal Hobart Show and 2017 has been no exception, with well over 100 submissions, in a variety of media, from photography, printmaking through to painting and skateboard designs.

Cows Create Careers success for students
During Term 3, a group of girls from both of the Animal Husbandry classes participated in “Cows Create Careers”.
Cows Create Careers is a nationwide program run by Dairy Australia. We were required to do three pieces of theory work whilst hand-rearing our calves at school over five weeks.
