​Da Vinci Decathlon Report

In Term 1, sixteen Year 8 students participated in the 2023 Year 7/8 Da Vinci Decathlon. Throughout the day, students were engaged in ten challenges on ten different topics. It was great to see the students working as cohesive teams as they tackled the different challenges. And challenge is indeed the right word. One of the College’s teams won the English Award!

What do a minch-wiggin, a Queen, and a rather large magical pup have in common? They need to find the dragon that has turned their worlds upside-down . . . even if it means revealing all they want to keep hidden.’

Dominic Animal Husbandry at Bushy Park Show

The Animal Husbandry Show Team have attended their first show at the Bushy Park Show where they showed either sheep or miniature ponies. All students and animals did a fantastic job, making the school very proud and coming away with some prizes. Bella Davis won the Champion Handler Class and Bella Rime achieved Reserve Champion.

The staff at Dominic College take eSafety very seriously and part of our role as a school is to teach and inform our children, staff, families, and the wider community about the risks of electronic media, whilst also acknowledging the many benefits that the internet can offer to help student learning and wellbeing.

Dominic College 50 Year Anniversary Celebration

This year we mark the celebration of 50 years as Dominic College. The Dominican Sisters and the Salesians of Don Bosco merged their Glenorchy schools in 1973 and we are all fortunate to be here as current students, staff and community members in 2023 embracing the traditions of these two wonderful charisms

A Christmas Message from our Principal

Our College has continued to thrive as a faith-based learning centre during the 2022 Academic Year. At the start of the year, we were challenged by our 2022 Strenna to ‘do all through love, and nothing through constraint’ and for us all to be people who make Dominic College a HOME that welcomes, a PARISH that evangelises, a SCHOOL that prepares for life and a PLAYGROUND where friends meet and enjoy themselves.

Farewell to our Year 10 Graduating Students of 2022

We say thank you and good luck to our Year 10 students as they end their journey with us here at Dominic College. For some, this journey commenced back in Kindergarten in 2011 and it is with genuine affection that we now send each of these young people on to the next phase of their educational pathway.
